Morgan James Faith Offers a Practical Family Devotional
NEW YORK--Month XX, 2015--Morgan James Publishing’s (www.Morgan-James.com) new release Making God Part of Your Family: The Family Bible Study Book by Michael Grady takes Old Testament Bible stories and makes them relatable for the whole family.
For many children, the Old Testament Bible stories are confusing. Whether they have read them in their kids’ Bibles, learned about them in Sunday school, or open Genesis to read about them, many times they feel lost and confused about how these stories relate to their life or the rest of the Bible. Making God Part of Your Family helps readers understand the importance of these stories and why they matter.
Grady does not simply retell the stories, but he also analyzes them, adding historical and linguistic background information. He shows his readers how the stories recount the past and also foreshadow Jesus. He points out the commonalities between the characters and modern people, showing how Christians can learn about God from their experiences. Making God Part of Your Family brings the stories to life and gives them a new perspective.
The Old Testament isn’t always pretty, but Grady doesn’t shy away from the messy details. In fact, he uses them as lessons and proves that God still uses people despite their mistakes. Grady also isn’t afraid to ask the hard questions. Whether it’s tackling evolution or the relationship between men and women, he shows how even the Old Testament can still apply to Christians today.
Each chapter of Making God Part of Your Family contains a different Bible story. At the end of each story, Grady provides discussion questions and additional Scripture verses for exploration, guiding his readers to create their personal Bible study and to find their own answers to his thought-provoking questions.
Whether its reading the ten-minute stories at dinner as a family, in church, at school, or even studying them alone, readers will learn from Making God Part of Your Family. Grady offers them helpful tools and resources to get started, if they will make the time to use them.
